In this company several particularly relevant artists have chosen to share the idea of a multi-artistic score: dancers with actors, poets, painters and musicians constitute the personnel of the Motion Dance Group led by Sonia Nifosi. A single entity that, with determination and enthusiasm to reach the spectator, interact with each other’s feeling. Artists chosen for their vitality and talent whose individuality is nourished and sustained by the opportunity to portrait their role. A polarisation of styles and doctrines in which a unique cue of inspiration is offered with so many different artistic personalities giving their particular contribution. The objective of the SNmdg is to create an atmosphere for both eyes and ears, resulting in continuous echoing of suggestions and feelings, emotions and memories: a game of reminders and cross-references with incursions into the realms of cinema, music, opera, theatre, mime and video animation. The result is a combination of artistic strength and beauty, via teamwork and individual expression, music and movement. The Motion Dance Group is the perfect environment in which technology and quality fuse together, becoming a point of aggregation for potential artists that very often risk dispersion. The fundamental nature of this Group’s work is therefore research that goes beyond the aesthetic appeal in which the body is not used as a means, but as a tool to create harmonic contact between the various arts. An idea of movement, analogous to certain aspect of quantum physics, that enhances the probability that body and mind find a common language to enable communication beyond the “stage-audience barrier”. SNmdg started as a contemporary-neoclassical dance company in 2010 with the production entitled “Juliet of the Spirits – this and other phantoms”. After a very difficult period of her life, Sonia Nifosi, dedicated her attention and commitment to this dance group after years of militancy in choreography, and after having built generations of dancers, teachers and choreographers. It is only now that we can define this as “new work” in a moment when an old inspiration finally takes shape in a new reality. An artistic rebirth already recognised by international critics who summon Sonia Nifosi in pursuing the creation of new ballets and to promote her dance group towards world tours of great prestige.
